A Town on the banks of rever Narmada , this has an acient history, the great scholar and vidvana Mandan Mishra lived here and had a Debate with Adi Shankarsacharya,one can still see the Gupteshwar mahadev Temple where this debate took place. Chhappan-Dev, Ganga-Zira,Dhawal-kunda,Hathani, Shstradhra, Ramkund are some other historical places of town. There is a dam being built on the banks of river Narmada against which the Narmada Bachao Andolan is agitating in leadership of Medha Patkar.Pt. Pankaj Mehta,Engineer S K Khare, Engineer B S Joshi, Dr Dongare(Eye Specialist),Amrut Shankar(Ambunana) Kothari, Seth Jadavchand Jain, and Sita Ram Sadho are some of the reknowned people of this town of present and past.Mandleshwar was capital of nimar regency during english rule which was later on transferred to Khandwa,The headquarter of this regency was in a huge building built on the banks of river Narmada which is a Boys school now. There are many students from this school those who have achieved success in their Professional lives the names include Mr Diwakar Mahant (1950 Batch) Mr Sanjay Garag and Mr Sanjay Lunawat, Mr Girish Khare, Dharmendra Gaur, Amardeep- sandeep- Pradeep Joshi, Prashant Kothari, Yogesh Joshi, Amit Mishra, Raghvendra Niranjan, Saurabh Moyde shrikant Kothari, Somesh - Nimensh Joshi, Ashutosh Yadav and many more. The best thing about this town is the kind of peace one can feel here on the banks of River Narmada , that can never be felt any where in the universe. There is a Datta Temple here in the town where in every year the on 28th of april the Abhishek Pooja is done in the name of Albert Einstine, and once in a year in the name of Lenin which is interesting. the town also have a Ram Mandir Estblished in the name of Brahmachaitanya Maharaj Gondwalekar, which is worth seeing. No doubt there is something in the air of this town that makes one feel the realationship between the man and the almighty god.

  • Now at this time Mandleshwar is also a educational place.Here many colleges,schools are there and having competition between them.Narmada river is very helpful.There was no difficulty of water.
