Kabongo is a large village in the northern part of Katanga Province, Dem. Rep. of Congo. It is the traditional seat of the Kabongo lineage of the royal family of the Baluba people. The current muLopwe (king or grand chief) is Kumwimba Kabongo Kansh'imbu. There is also a railway station on the Lubumbashi to Kalemie line.
