The Chernyshev mansion was begun in the 1760s for Zakharii Chernyshev, a prominent courtier during the reigns of Elizabeth and Catherine the Great. During the Seven Years War, Chernyshev achieved the rank of general, and in October 1760 his troops stormend and occupied Berlin. Chernyshev mansion was gutted during the Second World War.
