*Hinundayan is a 5th class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 11,113 people in 2,510 households.

*Hinundayan is politically subdivided into 17 barangays.

*Famous Filipina singer Regine Velasquez was born to a poor family in Manila, Philippines on April 22, 1970, the first child of Teresita and Gerry Velasquez. They later moved to Hinundayan, Southern Leyte. There she studied at Hinundayan Central School.
