The Sraoulia are descendants of SIDI HARRAT BENAISSA EL IDRISSI. They bear the surname BOUSSEROUEL. A name distorted by the colonizer french during rescensement of 1895. From BOU SER EL OUALI, it becomes BOUSSEROUEL. BOU SER EL OUALI, literally, the keeper of secret saint. Their ancestors were always at the service of ascetics, Sufis and marabouts. Currently, they are scattered all over Zemmora, Oran, Relizane, Mostaganem, Arzew, Algeria, Belgium, El Oued Djemaa, Marsa El Hadjadj, France, Spain, Germany, Malaysia.
