Brazil / Distrito Federal / Brasilia / Taguatinga
 monument, clock tower

The clock is the greatest symbol of Taguatinga. It is located in the city center, in front of the Regional Administration, in a square that gets its name "Clock Square". The clock is 17 meters tall. The tower section is hexagonal and, on top, each side of the 4 points to a major cardinal points.

The monument was donated by Japanese Eiichi Yamada, president of the multinational Citizen Watch Co., who visited the city in August 1970. The clock was inaugurated on December 22 of that year. On September 18, 1989 it was considered cultural and artistic heritage of Brazilian Federal District.

The clock has replaced the old Water Tower, located at the entrance of the city, as the main local symbol. The water tower was toppled in 1983.
