Ex - USS ARD-13

Venezuela / Carabobo / Goaigoaza /

Built in 1944 for the US Navy as part of the War Shipping Administrations shipbuilding program, the ARD-13 is a ARD-12 Class Auxiliary Repair Dock and commissioned into US Navy Service in 1944. Following her commissioning she was towed to Majuro Atoll and eventually Okinawa during WWII to service battle damaged ships in the pacific theatre.

She continued to serve the US Navy until she was decommissioned and struck from the US Naval Register in 1977. After being stripped of sensitive equipment, she was sold to Venezuela where it was placed into service with the Venezuelan Navy.

Judging from this image, the ARD-13 is no longer in service and has been dragged to this location to rot away.
