Fioletovo (until 1936, Nikitino) renamed in 1936 to honor Ivan Fioletov, a socialist activist shot along with the Baku Commissars.
It is now known as the last mostly Russian populated village in Armenia, occupied by Russian sectarian Spiritual Christians of two faiths -- Dukh-i-zhizniki (3-4 congregations), Molokane (1 congregation). Journalists and tourists come to interview and photograph the ethnic Russians.
