0.5km long stretch of log-periodic dipole antennae that is part of the radio telescope. Signals from these dipoles are amplified, correlated and interfered to produce radio images of the sun, Jupiter and pulsars. Owing to the orientation of the antenna, the telescope can "see" only objects crossing the meridian.
