Pahute Mesa Airstrip is a private-use airport located 31 miles northwest of Mercury, Nevada. The airport is owned by the United States Department of Energy. Originally the location of a WWII Army Air Force auxiliary airfield, the airstrip was expanded in 1968 to allow transport aircraft to bring test materials and supplies to projects at Areas 19 and 20.

  • this is the beleived location of the cheshire airstrip if you look close at the runway it can see that it has been recently re-surfaced and under it you can see also that it was at one-time textured to look like the natural look and feel of the desert. And at the north end of the runway you can see that there is still constuction still gonig on there. There seems to be alot of activity at this lacation with tanks on the east side of the runway and there is a MH-60 chopper on the north end looks to be taking off or landing.
  • "the beleived location" ??? It's a conspiracy. These left-handed cigarettes make me hungry. Pass the habañeros.
  • "one-time textured to look like the natural look and feel of the desert" -- No, that is what 70 years of exposure have done to what's left of a WWII-era landing field.
