Delph, a picturesque village in Saddleworth, is a small mill village barely changed from its 19th century heyday. The place name of Delph means 'quarry' and refers to the bakestone quarries just north of the village.

Popular with walkers, Delph is an place ideal start for walks up the Castleshaw Valley up to the Roman Fort at Castleshaw on the Roman road from Chester to York.
