This is a multi cultured colony. Once this place was so active, happening, colourful and busy. The people lived here were engineers, few doctors, co-worker etc and were from several parts of India. The purpose was building and maintaining the Barrage on river Bhagirathi. Now the job has become narrowed, and limited only to maintainance of the Barrage. Large no of employees are retired, no new job. Thus no of people in this colony is decreasing. In this way it became stagnant and idle. School is closed, many staffs are transferred to Farrakka, FBP.
