    This is called Shahid Gate - or Martyr's Gate in english. The four myrtyres namely Dharma Bhakta, Ganga Lal, Dasharath Chand, and Sukra Raj Shastry, who stood against the 104 year old Rana Regime, have their statues above their arms established here. On top of all is King Tribhuwan, who, in VS 2007 (1950) cooperated with people to get democratic government back. But his son King Mahendra established an aritocratic Shaha rule with a centrist and one-party type of Panchayat system of governance in the country of Nepal which the Jana Andolan I (People’s Movement-1) in 1990 forced its abolishment. Gyanendra, the second son of King Mahendra who was enthroned the seat of the King Birendra after his family’s massacre in 2002. The Maoists’ 10 years civil war and 19-day people’s movement 2 (Jana Andolan –II) of 2006 established a democratic republic in Nepal in 2008 by the Constituent Assembly was elected by the people of Nepal.
