The ensemble of churches is located on the Volga river coast. The first temple was built of St. John the Chrysostom (1649-1654). In 1669 the second (winter) church was built and dedicated to Our Lady of Vladimir. In 1690' the bell-tower was built and the complex was rounded by fence made of bricks with the Holy gates.

The cathedral was transfered to Old Believers Orthodox Church at the end of 1990's.
