    One of those old-time local delis that are far too rare in these modern days. Order one one of their delicious sandwiches to enjoy on their patio or to go, and make time slow down --as you enjoy your sandwich, you'll want time to linger even more.

    Many people have different opinions, but this is one of (I think THE) best places to get a sandwich in SLO. You order the sandwich by marking your choices (bread/meats/cheese/other) on a special form made for Gus', then pay and wait for them to bring you your sandwich. This is an amazing place to spend an hour of your afternoon with a cold beer and a few friends.
