'Venice' Island is of artificial origin.
In the middle of the 19th century, the territory of the future island was a site of the left-bank floodplain with a chain of lakes.
In 1877 a modern strait with this island was formed on the area of lakes as a result of severe flooding on the Dnipro river.

  • quite right. The word "restaurants" means actually shitty boxes for rednecks to drink cheap alcohol in the smoke of burned oil, on which meat is being cooked all over this "very nice place". If one goes to the "nature" part of the island, one finds a more nice place, but garbage from drunken picnics is everywhere.
