When I-5 became impassable due to the collapse of the ends of the overpass over The Old Road, traffic was re-routed at Calgrove Blvd (the southernmost offramp in Santa Clarita) onto The Old Road, actually passing under the damaged overpass, and then back onto I-5 before the highway 14 interchange.
Repairs were completed before the end of 1994, less than one year after the earthquake hit.
