In this village met on 18 (20) April 1821 the chieftains Athanasios Diacos, Panourgias Panourgia and John Dyovouniotis and decided resistance against the Turks (Battle Alamana, 04/23/1821), during which they arrested Athanasios Diacos who then killed Lamia with pitiful death (impalement).
