Weena Tower, dubbed the Pepper Shaker, is a 106.2 metre-tall residential structure designed by Klunder Architecten. At the time of completion in 1990, it was the tallest residential building in Rotterdam.
The building features a cylindrical facade clad in silver metal, overhanging the pavement of the avenue, whereas the back is made of white concrete. It has 33 floors, 13 of which are occupied by offices . The top 18 floors are purely residential with 72 apartments.
The project had a very long preparation time. An earlier proposal by the architect Klunder was nicknamed the Punch Card, because of the window bays scattered all over the facade.
