Grade II* Listed Building for Hall, Attached Garden Walls, Gatepiers and Gate
This Elizabethan building is most famous for its association with Charles II, for this is where he hid after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. The elegantly panelled walls of the hall conceal compartments designed to hide Catholic priests and it is one of these that saved Charles II.
On show is the bed that Charles II slept in and an exhibition about his daring escape. The house itself underwent several architectural changes in the 19th century and outdoors, the knotted garden is still maintained in the original 17th century style.
