The Pierrepont family settled in Nottingham in 1280, and established this remarkable Tudor manor in the 1500's. It is one of the earliest examples of outstanding crenellated brickwork. The house also contains fine medieval timber-work and lodgings with original fireplaces, family furniture and pictures dating back to the 17th century.
The grounds boast courtyard and formal gardens and the adjoining church contains alabaster monuments of the Pierrepont family, whose descendants still live in the Hall.
