  Kotli Machhrawan have no Machhra left today. The last Machhra was Hafeez Ullah Machhra who died in Lahore in the year 1996 while preparing for MA degree in Greek language and could not complete it for which he was quite determent. Prior to this he did his MA degrees in English, history and psychology (comparative religion). For last degree he stood first in Punjab university, for which he took medal from then president of Pakistan Ghulam Ishaq Khan. Unfortunately he could not get married due to carried on studies. So he did not have descendant to bear his sir name (Machhra) in this village, but name will be kept alive for ever in relation to the name of the village. his father formed the village about hundred years ago and from first marriage could not have any male descendant then from second marriage, Hafeez Ullah was born when he was too old. He was a big land lord and called other people from different places and gave his land to them to have a good company. There are different Goths today in the village but no Machhra.
