Gorhambury House is an exquisite example of a neo-Palladian house. Constructed in 1777-84 by Sir Robert Taylor. The estate including the ruins of 'Old Gorhambury House' and the Gorhambury House, was in ownership of St. Albans Abbey in the Middle Ages. The house contains a collection of notable portraits, which were transferred from the older ruined Elizabethan house.
