On 77 kilometer from Minsk on highway Minsk-Vitebsk, on the right hand side on a background of forests stands a sign made from bronze in a shape of a flamed torch, the name of the memorial and date in Belarus language “Dalva 19 chervenya 1944 goda” and points in the direction of the memorial complex.
Five kilometers of a road surrounded by forests - and without noticing you end up on a humongous field, what one-day was Dalva... Where people lived and worked. Raised children and were happy to see the sun.
On the 19-th of June 1944 fascists' invaders rounded up 44 residents to the end hut of Vasili Kucharenko and burnt them.
Among them were 29 children, 13 women and 2 men. The oldest was Kuprian Girilovich, 80 years old. The youngest was 2-year boy Kostya. The only one who stayed alive was 13-year-old Kolya Girilovich.
He grew up and organized together with young people the construction of the Memorial Complex. It was opened 15 July 1973.
These places are visited by many tourist groups from different countries of the world.
