The maithan group has its humble origins in a small effort made by the group founder, late raghumath agarwalla, when he set up maithan ceramic limited to manufacture fireclay bricks in 1963.

The guiding principle of setting up the manufacturing unit in close proximity to the customers and raw materials sources is still preeminent in all projects pursued by the group. The investments in steel by sail and iisco in the vicinity of the plant ensured steady growth for the manufactuting unit.
