The Old Weigh House on the north side of Market Square was built in 1555 by Hieronymus Lotter, who had also been in charge of the Old City Hall's construction one year later. It was used for trade-fair purposes and accommodated the Weigh Office on its grounded-floor. The Council Wine Bar was in the basement and the Councillors' Drinking Room on the first floor.
After the destruction during World War II, a new building was erected, respecting the original layout of the southern facade.
