  I was born and raised in Raz El Ain. Although we were poor and did not have much, we still were very happy, leaving amongst trees, lots of grass and a little brook flowing from Raz El Ain all the way down to the Marine area. After independance, not much has changed for the people of this neighborhood, in terms of housing and infrastruscture. very few families have been relocated in other parts of town. Unfortunately. all the greenery that once consisted of vegetable and flower gardens has disappeared and left the place to a road that has completely disfigured the area.
