Mountain Range in southern County Down ,Northern Ireland. The highest peak in the Mournes is Slieve Donard (850 meters), simultaneously the highest peak in the province of Ulster and in Northern Ireland. They have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are several hiking trails through the scenic mountains.
