  • I am happy to see Camp Red Cloud on the map. On the day when the camp was renamed from Camp Jackson, Lt General Trudeau, CG of the I US Army Corps invited President Syngman Rhee and other dignitaries. I was Aide de Camp to General Trudeau for local community affairs. For example, we had a regular meetings with Governor of Kyonggi-do and County Chiefs. I have a color slide of the renaming ceremony of the camp. Dan C Pak
  • I am happy to see Camp Red Cloud on the map. On the Armed Forces Day in 1957, Lieutenant General Arthur G. Trudeau, CG of the I US Army Corps (Group) invited President Syngman Rhee and other dignitaries. At the time, I was Aide de Camp for the General on the matters related to local community affairs. We had regular meetings with Governor of Kyonggi-do and County Chiefs. We helped many communities in the Province to rebuild after devastating war. I kept photographs and color slides to commemorate the events in those happy days. I like to get in touch with someone who served at the Headquarters, I Corps from 1956 to 1958. Dan C. • Isn't it wonderful that you happened upon this site! I was a lowly enlisted army specialist working on Medivac (Dustoff) helicopters at Camp Mosier in 1973-74. Also home of the 43rd Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH). Camp Red Cloud was a city compared to Camp Mosier. Where are you living now? I loved my time in Korea and stayed two years. I suggest that you have your photos and slides digitized and post them for others to find. Flickr and FaceBook have many groups involved with places and events. I could help you if you like. • Camp Mosier was 2-3 miles northeast of Red Cloud
  • Mr. Dan C Pak. Saw your comment about CRC being called Camp Jackson at one time. How much information do you know about Camp Jackson. When was it named Camp Jackson. Please send me information and copies of your slides if possible. Thank you, 3 tour Army in Korea. Sid Pope

  • Wow! I was at I Corps 1956 and 1957 worked in G-3 under Colonel Fitzgerald as a clerk. Others on the Colonels staff included SFC Maniscalco, NCOIC, Pfc Evans - security cage and another Sergeant and unfortunately cannot remember his name. Remember the day you reference and took a picture of Colonel Fitzgerald in his class A uniform shortly after the outdoor ceremony ended. Brought back a lot of memories. Colonel Fitzgerald was the one soldier that impressed me the most. The Colonel was scheduled to rotate back to the states in 1957. One night while I was G3 CQ he came into his office. We had a conversation and he stated that he was going to go up and see how the field maneuvers were going. It was late and the weather was stormy - he said he was going by chopper as he didn't think the weather was that bad and after a little more conversation he left. Later I heard that he did not make it... He was to rotate within a couple of weeks. Working under his command was the highlight of my Army tour.

  • What year were you there? I was an E4 and was in charge of the lab until I left in 1971
  • My name is Ted Fritz. I was stationed at Camp Red Cloud (CRC) during the summer of 1970. During that time, I was a patient at the local hospital with a case of tonsillitis. As I recall it was designated Surgical Hospital Mobile Army (SHMA), not MASH. I have some pictures (slides) of CRC but not the hospital since I was in bed for a few days. I ordered my camera from PACEX. After the summer, I was sent to artillery units (6/12th and I Corps Artillery) at Camp Santa Barbara, north of 7th infantry, where I spent the rest of the year of service until 1971. Nice to hear from others. Mr. Stoner, when were you at CRC? I might have run across you and/or Jerry at some point.
  • I was in the 377 Medical Company 1964-1965. Spent part of the time in the 3rd platoon near Camp Casey
  • Hi Larry, my name is Leo Murgia and I served with B Company, 51st Signal Bn. in Uijeongbu, South Korea from the summer of 1971 to the spring of 1972. I just read that the Army is in the the process of closing Camp Red Cloud. In what year(s) were you stationed there?
