Wartum

Wartum is the name of a mound with a farm on it. On 19th century maps, the farm is known as "De Wierde" and is surrounded by a square-formed canal. On the other side of the Termunter Aa is a rather similar farm with canals, called "'t Bosch". The mound has largely been demolished and contains the remains of an early medieval grave. The aerea has many traces of medieval material.
