Safford High School

USA / Arizona / Safford /
 high school, school yard

I never went to this school but I did go through the middle school to high-school transition counseling and orientation in 8th grade at the middle school. I know that lunches here are like a mom n' pop fast-food restaurant and there were no traditional hot-lunches (in 1990). Also you needed (or still need) a semester of auto mechanics to graduate. This school had a full auto mechanics and auto body shops, something that is going extinct in large cities like LA. This school has a mainstream non-credit religious seminary course that at least 1 in 3 of the kids enrolled in. If was often laytermed 'religion' by most of the kids that enrolled. No other High school I went to or know well (Miniskink in Slate Hill NY, Middletwon in Middletown NY, North Stafford in Garrisonville VA, Lake Washington in Kirkland WA, Safford in Safford AZ) had official school sponsored 'religion' class. Safford is a major mormon town. Of this list of high schools I went to or learned really well from friends/famil (Lake Washington, Minisink), only North Stafford High School also had full auto body and mechanics shops, more extensive than Safford actually. Minisink and Middletown (in NY) outsourced all their vocational stuff to half-day programs at BOCES.
