house, residency
The Steward's Lodge, Farmleigh is the Dublin residence for the use of the Taoiseach (prime minister). Purchased by the state as a part of the Farmleigh estate, it was modernised by the the government of Bertie Ahern at a cost of €600,000 in 2007. Ahern, whose constituency home was in north Dublin, never had reason to use the premises, however his successors, Brian Cowen (from Offaly), and Enda Kenny (from Mayo) have used the house.
