Sangrur is a city in the Indian state of Punjab, India. It is the headquarters of Sangrur District.
Famous as the largest paddy producing district , Sangrur was once the capital of Jind(presently an industrial town in Haryana) province.It still has that provincial residence,almost in ruins but converted to a park and some offices.Sangrur,as a region is one major part of Malwa.

  • Hi People, Sangrur is a lovely place. You will be astonished to hear that in 1972, India Versus Pakistan war, the person who was Commanded the Indian Army on border,was Major General Natha Singh and he belongs to this city. He captured the Pakistani Land (He pushed them back during war) as a result of which the Brave Indian Army reached Just 3 Kilometer away from the Lahore... But Government of India declared ceasefire and he was ordered to came back to Indian territory, HOW STUPID!!! When he came back, he faced Court Marshal proceedings for not obeying the Order of Senior Officer. Meaning thereby is to convey the message that Brave Men belongs to Sangrur only.... Ha Ha Ha :) Its My Hometown also. Now, aur kya kahun Iske Baare Main? I enjoyed just living here. Also one thing more, The people of Sangrur are fun loving and I am sure, they know more than about you... Padam
