m k shivappa... kanaja means stores, vibhuti kanaja means storage part of vibhuti. previously at the time of 12 century end when channa basavanna along with other shiva sharanas migrated from kalayana to ulavi, the followers of bsavanna decided to stay at ulavi and chana basavasavanna said "i will stay here" (ulive) thats why the name uluvi name came into practice, the other sharanas also said henceforth there is no end (Alivu) to basavannas new dharma. some also says ulivu is here for new dharma. so uluvi came to this place. at that time vibhuti was stored here it is saod. but the structure of the stone here is of lime type which is like vibhuti. so it is vibhuti kanaja.
