Rongelap (also spelled Rongelab) is an island on the southeast corner of Rongelap Atoll; it is also the largest island in the atoll. Resettlement after nuclear testing at Bikini has been attenpted at least twice, and failed. The westernmost part of the island is known as Jabwan (or Jabwaan), possibly once a separate island.
