It began functioning on december 15 of 1926, replacing an older Lighthouse.
A white, conical reinforced concrete tower with red lantern, and one of the highest in Portugal.
It his equiped with third order Fresnel lens, whose caracteristic three white flashes, render it visible for 28 nautical miles.
