  ELGOLAA :Situated in the southeast of "Chott El-Jerid", in the governorate of Kébili, the village of El Golâa is a part of the region said about "Nefzaoua". As many villages or villages in the surroundings, the name informs about the place. El Golâa indeed means the citadel (as his(her,its) homonym situated in the Algerian South). Originally, the population occupied the peak of the zone. Estimated(esteemed) at approximately 700 souls at the end of the XIXth century, this one did not stop spreading(widening) the space of housing environment to occupy afterward the surrounding plain. At the top of the hill, do not stay more than the mosque, from which we distinguish the minaret, and a public garden. It is difficult to define exactly the origins(background) of the population of El Golâa. Several narratives compete about the origin and about the ancestry of Guélaouas (and so are called the inhabitants of El Golâa).
