Cotijuba Island is located 1 hours away by boat from Belém.
Early 20 century there was a prison in the island. Dictatorship govern sent political prisoner to there, intending isolate those revolutionaries ideas. After dictatorship, the prison was deactivated, and Cotijuba was opened to tourism. Located in Marajó Bay, near Belém (Pará State, Northern Brazil), thus easy and fast access. Total area is 16 square km and 7 km of beach almost untouched. This paradise offer fresh water beaches, tropical fruits and several trials for hiking for visitor entire year.
