  • This is the place where Lord Neminath also called as Aristhnemi was born. He was 22nd Tirthankar in the present cycle of 24 Tirthankars. He was relative to Lord Krishna. Lord Neminath was fixed for marriage with very beautiful girl called Rajul daughter of a Gujarat king. While going in the marriage procession Neminath saw poor helpless anaimals horded in some places and heard their cries. Upon asking he was told that those animals would be butchered for the food of wedding party. Lord Neminath, to save the lives of those animals decided not to marry and turned his chariot towards secluded place for renunciation to the world. He became a Jain monk and attained Kewal Gyan ( Super Knowledge knowing past, present and future of all universe or cosmos ). He attained Nirvan or Mukti or Super Salvation with a lot of followers. ---- B. C. Jain
