Garrison Church (Garnisonkirche) was a Baroque church, built under the second Prussian king Friedrich Wilhelm I, between 1730 and 1735. During World War II, the church burned down on 14 April 1945. The ruin was demolished on 23 June 1968, in the communist regime, during the leadership of Walter Ulbricht.
