History of the Institute of Electrodynamics of NAS of Ukraine (IER NAS of Ukraine) associated with the creation in 1939 of the Institute of Energy, the main research areas in which the efficiency and reliability of electrical systems formed the basis of scientific research institute.
In 1947, the Institute of Energy Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR were two institutions, one of which - Institute of Electrical Engineering, renamed in 1963 the Institute of Electrodynamics of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR.
