Built in 1986, a 34-story Class AAA office tower of 454 feet in height located in the heart of Downtown Birmingham. Built for SouthTrust Corporation, the building was previously known as the SouthTrust Tower and the Wachovia Tower. It housed SouthTrust corporate headquarters until the bank was bought by Wachovia in 2004 and was used by Wachovia for their regional headquarters. Wells Fargo bought the bank from Wachovia in 2008 and the name was changed in October 2010 to Wells Fargo Tower. It is the tallest building in Birmingham at 138 m/454 ft.
