  • On Saturday 15 August 1998, Omagh was the site of Northern Ireland's worst single terrorist atrocity, when republican terrorists exploded a car bomb, murdering twenty nine people and injuring approximately two hundred and twenty people.
  • I remember being ten when it happened and coming downstairs one morning to find my dad watching the aftermath of the bombing on the tv. That picture will stay with me. I was on that High Street a few yrs ago and it looks so different after about ten yrs you would never suspect it to have a mirky past just to look at it.
