4.5 km from the town of Kalavryta there is the historical Monastery of Agia Lavra. Right of the main entrance of the enclosure of the monastery is the church that there was declared and blessed the Hellenic revolution by the Bishop of Old Patras Germanos at the feast of the Annunciation of 1821.
