Buckton Vale Primary School opened in its present building in January 1970. It is situated in the village of Carrbrook which is designated a conservation area. The premises are traditional in design. There are eleven classrooms and a central, multipurpose hall. Cloakrooms are part of a shared resource area, which include a small bay. The bay areas are used as library or work areas. The covered quad now houses our computer suite.

The organisation in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 (4-7 years) is within five classes and includes mixed age classes. This is due to current legislation, which limits classes to 30 and an annual admission number of 45.

Key Stage 2 (7-11 years) is within five classes which also include mixed age classes.
