Braunfels Castle | museum

The original castle here dated from the mid-13th century but much of it burned down in a big town fire in 1679. The castle was then rebuilt into a Baroque residence, and in the late 1800s, transformed again, in the neo-Gothic style. Many old and valuable works of art are to be found inside.
