Twinwoods Business Park, previously a part of the Royal Aeronautical Establishment Bedford, was handed over to the Qinetiq Group in 2001. The former military research facility housed a collection of wind tunnels used for military aerodynamics research. Several of the wind tunnels are still in use, in private ownership. One is operated by the RedBull Formula 1 Racing team for racing car aerodynamics research; another, the Vertical Spinning Tunnel, is now operated by Bodyflight as the world's largest skydiving simulator.
