Built in 1962 as the Sheraton-Kingston Hotel. The original 200-room low-rise hotel was one of the first large international resorts built in Jamaica in the jet age. A 200-room tower wing was added in 1970. Converted in 1979 to the New Kingston Hotel, then in 1984 to the Wyndham Kingston then in 1998 to the Hilton Kingston, then in 2010 back to the Wyndham Kingston. Closed in 2013 after a fire. Much of the 1962 structure was damaged and later demolished.
