The centre of the city of Kotor in the municipality of the same name is surrounded by an impressive city wall. The old town is set against a steep mountain slope at the far end of the bay of the same name. The city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Bay of Kotor is the only fjord in southern Europe.
