  This was an old missile launch site. It is now decomissioned and converted to an observatory for astronomers. It is released for the general public to hike through.

  I've lived in this area for over 50 years, and never heard of Pulpit Rock as being a missile launch site. The A.T. runs through this area, so it is highly unlikely it was ever a missile site. Hamburg has a watershed here as well. Any proof to the missile story?
